NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY FOR PUBLIC REVIEW AND NOTICE OF INTENT TO ADOPT A NEGATIVE DECLARATION FOR THE 2019-2027 HOUSING ELEMENT UPDATE PROJECT PLN19-0021; GPT19-0001; EIS19-0001 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the County of Nevada, as a lead agency, is circulating for public review a Draft Initial Study/Negative Declaration (IS/ND) in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) for the proposed amendments to the Nevada County General Plan, Chapter 8, Housing Element Update Project. PROJECT LOCATION: Unincorporated area of Nevada County. APN's: N/A. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: PLN19-0021; GPT19-0001; EIS19-0001. The project is an update to the Nevada County General Plan, Chapter 8, Housing Element that was previously adopted by Nevada County in 2014. State Housing Element Law (Government Code Section 65580 (et. seq.)) mandates that local governments must adequately plan to meet the existing and projected housing needs of all economic segments of the community. Upon its adoption, the 2019-2027 Housing Element will become part of the Nevada County General Plan. PUBLIC REVIEW: As a lead agency, in accordance with CEQA, Nevada County is distributing the Draft IS/ND to interested public and regulatory authorities for review and comment for a period of 30-days. Nevada County is inviting comments and concerns regarding the IS/ND during the public review period spanning April 19, 2019 to May 20, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. Final action on the proposed ND will be taken by the Board of Supervisors after the completion of the public review period at a duly noticed public hearing on a date to be determined.
