ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS 1. Separate sealed bids will be received by the Douglas County School District care of Douglas County Project Manager, Minden, Nevada, for the work as set forth in the Bid Documents for the DCSD 2020 WAN Fiber Improvement Project. The bids shall be received on or before 2:00pm on January 30, 2020, at Douglas County School District Office, 1638 Mono Avenue, Minden, NV 89423. Bids will be subsequently opened and read aloud at 2:01pm at Douglas County School District Office, 1638 Mono Avenue, Minden, NV 89423. The apparent successful low bidder will be announced at the bid opening on January 30, 2020, followed by a thorough review by the Project Manager to ensure bid as responsive and responsible. The Project Manager will make a recommendation for award to the Owner on January 31, 2020. It is anticipated that the Board of Douglas County School District will consider award of the contract at their scheduled meeting held on February 11, 2020. 2. The scheduled work for the DCSD 2020 WAN Fiber Improvement Project is located within Douglas County, Nevada and consists of trenching, cabling and terminating fiber optic cables. The estimate for this work is $ 700,000.00 3. No proposal will be considered unless accompanied by a bid security in the form of a Certified or Cashier's Check, or Bid Bond, in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the bid. 4. Bid Documents may be examined on line only 5. Copies of the Bid Documents will be available starting at Wednesday December 6, 2019 & may be obtained at the Douglas County School District's website for free at: Under Construction Bid Documents and the heading entitled DCSD 2020 WAN Fiber Improvement Project. The licensing requirements is set by the State of Nevada Contractors Board is required and Contractor shall capable of being bonded for this project. Contractors may register their intent to submit a bid by sending an email to Scott McCullough, Project Manager at Email Me (SUBJECT LINE DCSD 2020 WAN Fiber Improvement Project) prior to 5:00pm on January 27, 2020. The Prevailing Wage Rate as established by the State Labor Commission shall be paid on projects with a contract price of $100,000 or more. The State Labor Commissioner has assigned a Public Works Project Number to this project. It is PWP DO-2020-098 8. NRS 338.147 provides for a 5 percent bidder preference to bidders who qualify for the preference. The requirements for the preference are detailed in the contract documents. 9. A prebid conference will be held on January 9, 2020 at 10:00am at the DCSD IT Office, located at the Bus Yard, on the corner of Heybourne and Airport Roads, Minden. Bidders are encouraged to attend and participate in the conference but it is not mandatory. Access to the various project areas will be made available. 10. The project requires permits prior to construction that the Owner intends to obtain. In the event the permits are not granted the contract will not be awarded.
